OnlyFans Costs and Fees: What Creators Keep
Last updated

OnlyFans advertises an 80% creator payout, but platform fees are only one part of the calculation. This guide covers conversion, operating costs and realistic take-home revenue.
The platform fee
OnlyFans keeps 20% of every subscription, PPV sale, tip and custom-content payment. A gross platform revenue of €1,000 therefore leaves €800 before any other business costs or taxes.
Payment providers and currency conversion
OnlyFans accounts internally in US dollars. Euro payouts can include an exchange-rate spread, while third-party payout services may charge separate transaction fees.
VAT
German self-employed creators may have VAT obligations depending on turnover and structure. Cross-border platform payments can involve reverse charge rules. Our tax guide provides an overview, but individual advice is essential.
Ongoing expenses
Typical costs include outfits, props, locations, cloud storage, editing software and paid promotion. A realistic monthly range can be €200–€800 depending on ambition and production volume.
One-time investments
A camera, lighting, microphone and tripod can cost €300–€1,500, but creators do not need all of it on day one. A reliable setup that produces consistent quality is more useful than unnecessary premium equipment.
What remains
As a broad planning figure, €100 of OnlyFans revenue may leave €60–€70 after platform fees, conversion and operating costs, before personal taxes. Agency support adds a revenue share but can also increase total sales through professional management.
